Background

artwork by @AshinoAliceBorn into a humble family of traveling merchants, Pomme spent most of her younger days in the company of her sister - Rose, and helping her parents sell their wares. She’s traveled to many places in Eorzea due to this, but does not remember permanently residing in one place. She has trouble remembering exact details of what her life had been during those days, but knows that moments with her family were some of the happiest she's had. After an unfortunate accident with a band of thieves, Pomme finds herself the sole survivor of the attack after her parents hide her inside one of the storage crates. The last words she remembers where to ‘stay hidden’, Once the chaos had devolved, she awakens to find her parents killed and her sister’s dying body reaching out to her, telling her that she's glad that Pomme is safe. She keeps Rose’s earring as a memento and a reminder. And lives out the majority of her days learning to survive on her own, before eventually making her way to Limsa Lominsa.

Appearance

Art by @Ara_arachan4Pomme stands among the taller Lalafells. She has natural dark black hair, which she began dyeing and styling to her personal preferences once she began her Eorzean adventure. Part of her reasons were to shed a version of her old self, and welcome a new beginning.Among her experimental styles was her black and green curl and braid combo - which she eventually ended up changing to her current more manageable hairstyle of her light blue hair, with purple highlights, hanging loosely just below her shoulders. In terms of outfit choices, Pomme is mostly seen in either pastel colored clothing or black and whites. She's begun to add more colors to her look, with the occasional red and blue here and there. And although she did start out with a preference for more darker colors, she eventually grew to like adding more ligher shades to her looks.

Personality

Pomme is very skeptical and cautious of strangers due to her past. She often chooses to isolate herself in the corner, blending in with her surroundings and observing those around her. Trust is something that’s hard earned for her, and even harder to regain once broken. On the other hand, she also becomes extremely protective of those she holds near and dear, and would fight tooth and nail for them without a second thought. It is only with those she cares for that she shows her truest smiles, and not the fixed smile she’s required to show as Eorzea’s Warrior of Light. She’s also a hard worker, and enjoys learning new things. And although she picks up quickly on how to kill monsters and do odd jobs, she finds it difficult to do anything related to high society and anything regarding formal education.Pomme harbors some insecurities due to her small stature. She loves being a Lalafell, but often finds that there are very obvious struggles to being so small - predominantly surfacing once she got to Ishgard. Although this shouldn’t really bother her, she often can’t control when these thoughts rear themselves inside her head.

Friends and Family

After the accident claiming her biological family's life, Pomme feared forming connections and bonds. But she finds new allies in the form of The Scions of the Seventh Dawn; each one very dear to her. But within and alongside the Scions, she's also managed to form other special bonds during her adventure.

Alphinaud and Alisaie Leveilleur

Art by @1soraille2The twins hold a very special place in Pomme's heart. She sees them as her own beloved little siblings, who argue and bicker like there’s no tomorrow, but are there for one another when it matters most. And she couldn’t be any more proud of them. It's a runing joke among the three of them to treat Pomme like she was the younger one, and she lets them get away with it - sometimes. She thinks her closeness to the twins manifested after all their shared experiences together and because she misses her own sibling, and finds comfort in the twins and their presence. She loves spending time with them, away from Scion duties and just allowing them to act their age. And when, every now and then, she spoils them more than any of the others, no one dares to say anything about it. She’d go through the Aetherial Sea and back for them, and she’d like to think they’d do the same thing for her too.

Dragons of Anyx Trine and Mani (OC)

Post-Heavensward, Pomme finds comfort alongside the Dragons, and she becomes a frequent visitor to Vidofnir and her brood. Her visits to Coerthas are frequent enough due to her connections with House Fortemps, so she often finds herself in Vidofnir’s company when she just wants to escape being the Warrior of Light, or when she simply wants to avoid human company. The Dragons would often listen to her prattle on about one thing or another, or occasionally just allow themselves each others’ company in silence, with Pomme usually finding herself well rested after taking a nap under her dragon friend’s wing.

Art by @strawveniMani (meaning Moon in Norse Mythology) is a small youngling, and a member of Vidofnir’s brood. He’s seen Pomme on occasion, during her frequent visits, and is intrigued by the small adventurer that seem to prefer the company of their kind compared to most humans. When Midgarsomr leaves Pomme’s side after the events of Omega, the small dragon takes the opportunity to go with her on her adventures, demanding that she take him with her. Vidofnir doesn’t object, because while he knows that his broodmother loves him and their small friend both, he also knows a part of her is happy to be rid of them from time to time so she can get some peace and quiet.Smaller than most younglings in the brood, it wasn’t hard for Pomme to take Mani around in between adventures. And Although she leaves him back in Anyx Trine during the liberation of Doma and Alah Mhigo, and once more during her time in the First, the two develop a deep kinship with one another. Pomme continues her frequent visits, and Mani always waits for her return from the big adventures she can’t take him with. He's always hoping for the safe return of his dear friend, and excited for her new stories she's bound to tell him later.

Relationships

Haurchefant Greystone

Art by @HeckAppleEven before their entry to Ishgard, Pomme finds a confidant and dear friend in Haurchefant. She was pleasantly surprised by how interested he’d been to her cause, what she’d done and accomplished, and who she was as a person . He was always excited to listen to her stories, and genuinely cared for her well being.Regular visits to Camp Dragonhead were often Pomme’s way to confide in him over a warm mug of hot chocolate, as they regaled each other with stories of just about anything they could talk about. The members of House Fortemps eventually become those she also considers family, and Pomme still makes regular visits to Fortemps Manor to have tea with Count Edmont or to spend some time with Artoriel and Emmanellain.

Art by @tykaticThey both had this silent agreement to wait - both aware of each other's feelings, but chose to put it on hold in favor of prioritizing Ishgard. Pomme kept telling herself she'd make it clear after the war.Her feelings for Haurchefant, that he never got to hear her say out loud, became one of her biggest regrets. Any chance of her telling him of her feelings were ultimately destroyed by his untimely death. She chose to shove the love she felt for him down to the pits of her stomach, because she knew if she allowed herself to say it in that moment, she’d break apart. If Edmond knew about her close relationship with his son, he never pushed her to speak about it.And even if a part of her is certain that somehow, he just knew, She will forever regret that she never got to actually tell him how she felt with words. And now, she'll never get the chance.Furthermore, events in The Vault unearthed Pomme’s feelings of dread in forming more personal connections, in fear of them being willing sacrifices for her - especially after being branded the Warrior of Light. She vowed to honor his memory, and promised to do all she could to help rebuild the home he loved and died for. That, even if Haurchefant couldn’t be there to witness Ishgard’s recovery from the Dragonsong War, she would see it through till the end.Pomme makes regular visits to Hauchefant, and sits down by his gravestone - braving the cold with hot chocolate in hand - to regale him of stories of her most recent adventures. Until now, she will always consider Ishgard and House Fortemps the place she can always call home.

G'raha Tia

Art by @YuniMiiBefore the events leading to the Crystal Tower, Pomme sees G’raha as no more than an eager eyed academic with a penchant for adventure. He's a comrade who ultimately decides to lock himself up in said Tower, so she thinks it'll be a long time coming before she sees him again.Pomme knows it’s him the moment she asks the Crystal Exarch if G’raha Tia was somehow also transported to the First. She realizes immediately after he stutters out a response, that although the Exarch may be decades old and a great ruler, he’s an extremely terrible liar. But, she has other things to worry about and allows him to keep his secrets, content in observing and getting to know the man she never got the chance to truly understand during his time on the Source.Pomme is soon forced to battle with the possibility of feelings for G'raha as they get closer. She chooses to silence her feelings, and decides to think on them at a later time. Once they’re back on the Source, he becomes a Scion, and she slaps him out of frustration when he tells her he’d willingly die for her again, and then proceeds to consider that maybe she really does have feelings for him and now she has to figure out what to do about it.Post-Shadowbringers, She ultimately decides to bury her feelings for G'raha for the time being, not wanting to dive into any romantic association for now and focus first on herself. Although she doesn't deny that her feelings exist, she isn't ready to fully commit just yet. After all, she still regularly finds herself on the hills of Coerthas, and it wouldn't be fair to G'raha for Pomme to commit to him, knowing that her heart was still elsewhere.

Post Endwalker

Art by @HeckAppleAfter the Scions go their separate ways, Pomme chooses to temporarily escape the title of the Warrior of Light. She goes back to her roots as a common adventurer and recruits a juvenile grown Mani from Anyx Trine. They seek out their own little quest, exploring and going where the wind takes them.To complete her escape, she takes a concoction known as a Fantasia, to change her appearance - into a hyur, but still keeping her pointy elven-like ears, and abandoning her name and her form. She becomes known only by the adventurer “Noi”. (meaning Rest and Repose in Hebrew)The Scions, some panicking after her sudden disappearance, receive a few short letters here and there of Pomme’s assurance of safety - which she's asked for Tataru's aid in writing. But they have no idea of her whereabouts. As Noi, she does visit each of the Scions offering help in their efforts while hiding right under their noses. For a time, she’s allowed to be just herself, no titles and world ending responsibilities, with her dragonkin friend by her side.

Art by @halfquiantOnce she’s ready and rested, she eventually keeps her promise to Raha, and they travel to Ishgard together. She introduces him to Vidofnir, and the dragons she's made friends with and makes a visit to House Fortemps. She makes it a point to also take him with her to visit the only other person closest to her heart, and hopes that she can finally find steps towards closure to move forward. She also often visits Alphinaud and Alisaie in Garlemald, and helps in the restoration efforts, if only to have some excuse to visit them when missing them becomes too much for her.And when she wants to rest, and to be away from it all, she returns to the solitude of her apartment in Ishgard and in the company of House Fortemps, content to find respite in the place she calls home.

Extra / Trivia

  • Pomme never learned how to read. She often asks others to read her missives to her, and asks for help with deciphering tomes when needed. She’s forced herself to learn little by little especially when she took on the job as a Summoner, but she isn't proficient at it.

  • Post-Endwalker, one of the ways she spends quality time with G'raha is by asking him to slowly teach her how to read and write, with a nice cup of hot chocolate every time they have a study session.

  • What she lacks in letters and words, she makes up for in notes and tones. Pomme's pretty well versed, and likes to express herself, with music. She likes to hum tunes to herself, and she commissions for a smaller sized piano to be placed in her apartment to allow her to play during her times in solitude.

  • None of the Scions know about her Nameday. They find out completely by accident when they unknowingly walk in on her singing to herself in the foyer of the Rising Stones.

  • She’s fond of coffee and all types of sweets, but finds tea flavored sweets among her favorites after her travels to Kugane.

  • She hates cramped spaces and thunderstorms as it's a reminder of the night she lost her family in the bandit attack.

  • Pomme and G'raha are taking steps to build a relationship together, but in another life, Pomme would have built a home in Ishgard alongside her favorite Elezen Knight.
